Music has always been a passion of mine. At age 2, before I could form words in my mouth, I began training in the art of Carnatic vocal music (South Indian Classical music) from my mother. From then on, I have been learning tabla since the age of 12 from Dr. Narendra Verma, a contemporary of the late Ustad Allah Rakha. In addition, I also played a bit of drums and congas during high school.
During my undergraduate studies at Drexel University, I joined Drexel Bhangra which rose to become one of the top co-ed Bhangra teams in the circuit. There, I picked up dhol on my own. Afterwards, I was able to perform along with many other top bhangra teams in North America including Bhangra Empire, GW Bhangra, GMU Bhangra and UMD Bhangra. I have performed in competitions all over the US including California's Dhol Di Awaaz in California, New York's Big Apple Bhangra and DC's Elite 8 and Bhangra Blowout.
My aim with any of my clients is to share the passion that I have enjoyed for the past 21 years of my life.
